A World-First Infrared Light therapy Programme for Endometriosis

SweatLounge X frendo

8 week initial programme | data-informed | whole-body approach

Endometriosis is a whole-body condition — not just pelvic pain.

SweatLounge and frendo have partnered to create the first evidence-informed infrared programme designed specifically to support endometriosis-related pain, inflammation, immune regulation and energy recovery.

This is structured, measurable, non-pharmacological support — built from real data, not guesswork.

What Makes This Different

This 8-week programme was co-developed by frendo founder Dearbhail Ormond and SweatLounge founder and Light Therapy Expert Allison Huff-Ritchie.

It combines:

  • frendo’s global real-world symptom data from thousands of people living with endometriosis

  • SweatLounge’s science-led infrared therapy expertise, delivered in a controlled, nervous-system-safe environment

Together, this creates a consistent, repeatable framework that can be delivered reliably and refined through real-time insights.

The programme operates over 8 weeks initially, and is designed to support pain, inflammation, nervous system regulation and energy recovery.

Progress is tracked through symptom patterns using the frendo app, observing symptom patterns rather than one-off outcomes.

Built on Real-World Patterns

frendo’s anonymised global data reveals consistent patterns across the endometriosis community, including:

  • Persistent, multi-site pain
  • Chronic inflammation and immune dysregulation
  • Flare cycles linked to stress and disrupted sleep
  • Significant fatigue and energy depletion
  • Nervous-system hyperreactivity

These insights directly informed the programme’s structure — including session frequency, duration, temperature ranges and recovery principles — using a clear Reset → Reduce → Rebuild approach.

This programme is designed to be repeatable and definable, using ongoing symptom insight to understand what supports people living with endometriosis over time, not just during a flair.

Why infrared light?

Evidence suggests infrared light therapies may:

  • Reduce pain, stiffness and muscular guarding
  • Improve circulation and tissue oxygenation
  • Support autonomic nervous-system balance
  • Help regulate inflammatory pathways
  • Support energy recovery

This programme is designed to complement medical care, offering structured support between appointments, where many people are currently left without guidance.

This programme may be suitable for people living with diagnosed or suspected endometriosis, including those who are not currently menstruating.

Why this matters

frendo’s research shows:

  • 57% of people aged 18–24 felt dismissed during diagnosis
  • Half of people with endometriosis do not feel supported through the diagnostic process

Care is fragmented. Guidance is inconsistent. Non-pharmacological options are limited.

This partnership was created to offer something different: a system-level, data-informed approach that reflects the real lived experience of endometriosis.
